MINDFULNESS BASED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Core Process Psychotherapy
having been established in 1982, is one of the original mindfulness-based psychotherapies. Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practice underpin this work. I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which is the professional association for members of the counselling professions in the UK
"Buddhist principles and awareness practices have directly informed and influenced the development of Core Process Psychotherapy. Core Process therapists and clients are not necessarily Buddhist in spiritual tradition or inclination, but a Buddhist perspective naturally infuses their work. "
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT
After initial contact by text, or email, I will try to arrange to have a brief chat if possible. If you are then interested in therapy I will arrange a free 1 hour initial session to assess your requirements and see if we can both work together. The introductory session allows you a taste of what might be possible if you decide to start therapy with me.
The power of psychotherapy lies in the presence that deep listening offers. It's about the relationship. Starting psychotherapy can seem intimidating, however, engaging in a gentle and gradual process, the aim is that trust is built and we establish a successful working relationship.
Being listened to, being seen for who you really are, and exploring what might be holding you back from thriving in relationship can be a real tonic for the soul.
